RE: Heisman watch

I'll be watching this game. Let me see, my wife's family lives in Florida, my sister lives in Florida, we have some rv.net friends in Florida, and Urban Meyer is orginally from Ohio. Now with respect to Alabama, I have three rv.net friends in Alabama, our motor home (Tiffin Allegro Bay) was built in Red Bay, Alabama, we've been to Tuscalossa at the University of Alabama campus, both Joanne and I have Alabama ceramic coffee cups, she wears an Alabama T-shirt when we walk, and Nick Saban used to coach my alma mater the University of Toledo. It looks like the scale slightly tips towards me rooting for Alabama this weekend. However, my rooting for Alabama will have no influence on the outcome of the game! I bet its going to be hard hiting entertaining game to watch! Chuck/Bagman.

RE: Heisman watch

Tim is a great QB and a big asset to the Florida "Gators". They wouldn't have such a good win/lose record without him! He deserves to have two Heismans just like Archie Griffin! Chuck/Bagman.

RE: College football - week 14

Les Miles could have had the Michigan job if he wanted it! I just can't see how LSU could go from a National Championship team to 7-5 this year. That last Arkansas TD pass were absolutely perfect! Right now I'm watching Fresno State vs Biose State. Boise is ahead 13-10. Bags.

Happy to see Pitt win today, but actually both West Virginia and Pitt are teams I like. But I like Pitt a little better! Bagman.

RE: Cheap Gas! $2.859 Yesterday

Ron, only 20 cents from Kroger because we were not in Michigan that much in October. Had we spent the entire month in Michigan, I would have got 50 cents off of $1.63 and would have paid $1.13/gal. However, we'll be in Michigan shopping at Kroger during the whole month of December and that means we'll be paying close to a dollar per gallon in January. I'm loving it! Chuck/Bagman.

RE: Cheap Gas! $2.859 Yesterday

I paid just $1.43/gal. to fill up our motor home today! Plus the credit card I use gives me a 4% rebate. And that brings it down almost another 6 cents. Fuel is presently a bargain! Bagman.

"Monster" Thanksgiving!!!! 200 for dinner!!!

Believe it or not, but a gal that works for us is getting together with 200 members of her family for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. I'm talking cousins, aunts, uncles, neices, nepheps, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, brother, and sisters. Her name is Cheryl Washburn (formally Cheryl Gonzalez) and every year her family in the Detroit area has to rent a hall just to share Thanksgiving dinner together and it isn't catered. Every household is told what they are expected to bring and I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. I tease Cheryl sometimes that her family is responsible for the Earth's overpopulation and that their Thanksgiving should be in the Guiness World Book of records. There will only be nine members of my family having Thanksgiving dinner together in Toronto! Not the one in Canada, the one in Ohio! Happy Thanksgiving all! Chuck/Bagman.

Last Thursday we did 747 miles between Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Indianapolis, Indiana. It was a long day for us and especially me as I drove all the miles. Chuck/Bagman.

RE: How Important Is Tradition?

I moved to Michigan on January 21st. 1973 and I really wanted and tried to be a Detroit Lion football fan, but just had a very difficult time being one as they always manage to dissapoint me! I'll stick with my Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers don't always win, but you better believe the other team knows they played a team that knows how to hit!!! Love those Steeler uniforms and the helmets with the steel logo on the side. Bagman.

RE: Why a DP is a great MH...going the distance

Diesel Pushers are very nice and are at the top of the food chain. However, on our way back from Az, we paid $1.55/gal for 87 octane gas in Beaverdam, Ohio and this morning I'm going to fill it up with $1.43/gal. gas! On our third day of driving back from Az, we made it from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Indianapolis, IN in one day with our old 2004 Allegro Bay gasser. Just turned over 40,000 miles on the odometer! RE: Banks system for 1997 Southwind

You can really appreciate the Banks system when merging into traffic or climbing a long steep grade! We have the Banks, but we have a 8.1 Vortec, not a 460! Good luck, Chuck.

RE: What About The Ball State Cardinals???

Just to bring you college football fans up to date with Ball State of Indiana. Last night they beat Western Michigan 45 - 22 and means a 12 - 0 record, a good bowl game, and future 1st round pick QB Nate Davis was 17/25 for 273 yards passing and 1 rush for 64 yards for a total offensive output of 337 yards. And I saw the receivers drop a few passes that were right on target. I'm sure most of you never heard of "Big Ben" of the Pittsburgh Steelers when he was playing for Miami of Ohio! Anyway the Ball State "Cardinals" are a decent football team and could surprise a higher ranked BCS team! JMHO, Chuck/Bagman.

RE: Which Coach Is Better??? (College Football)

Alamama definitely got the better of the deal! Alabama like Michigan has a great football tradition and now thay are back on top! Must make you folks very proud to have a good football team once more. I know it was only a few years ago when you got beat by Northern Illinois out of the MAC and that was probably the straw that broke the camel's back. I have a picture of me standing beside "Bear" Bryant's statue, with my arm around him at the university in Tuscaloosa and we absolutely loved that campus. Roll tide! Bagman.

RE: Last Years Capital One Bowl (Mich./Florida)

Exactly Mike, that is how it is with my attitude towards Michigan football, what kind of "Buckeye" would I be if I didn't want Ohio State to knock the snot out of them the third weekend of each November. However, I always respected Michigan, respected Bo Schembechler, and even played against U. of M. in 1968. We lost 12 - 0. I wouldn't miss this annual event for anything in the world. Chuck/Bagman.

RE: SAINTS/packers

I watched about 1/2 of the game last night and when I saw Lance Moore catch that one pass where he dived into the endzone and remembered that he was a receiver at one time at the University of Toledo. Drew Brees is some kind of QB. The Saints seemed unstopable last night! Bagman.

Last Years Capital One Bowl (Mich./Florida)

I made a post on this thread on 01/01/08 at 5.21 PM and my post clearly displays how I wanted Michigan to win this game and how pleased I was Michigan won! And that is the big difference between me and the die hard Michigan fans. I always root for the Michigan teams when they are playing any opponent other than Ohio State and always cheer for the Big 10 teams to win their perspective bowl games. However, the die hard Michigan fans cannot say anything good about the state of Ohio or even about Archie Griffin a fine gentleman and two time Heisman trophy winner at Ohio State. No matter who the "Buckeyes" are playing, they would rather see Ohio State loose, rather than see Ohio State a Big 10 team win. Kind of like biting your nose to spite your face. Every year during the NHL palyoffs (Stanley Cup) we have a huge Red Wing banner we display at our business and we have the Red Wing logo on our Saturn Vue. It must be Banner) about 3' X 8" and yet I was told that I am not allowed to be a Red Wing fan because I'm from Ohio and like Ohio State and that I have to root for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Heck, I only know one player on that team and that's because he used to be a Red Wing. The Bagman likes: Ohio State, Toledo, Pitt, West Virginia, Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Pistons, Tigers, and last but not least, our beloved Red Wings! Go figure, Chuck/Bagman.

RE: Which Coach Is Better??? (College Football)

In an article by Mark Snyder is today's Detroit Free Press, he talks bout how three Michigan players have left the team this past week and how coach Rodriguex expects other to follow including last years highly recruited running back Sam McGuffie from the state of Texas. On the positive side, this will allow Michigan to offer more athletic scholarships this year and have a larger recruiting class. They have four easy opponents on next years schedule and they are Western Michigan, Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan, and Indiana. They also have an open date of Oct. 17th. and they need to fill that date in order to play a (12) game schedule. I predict the Wolverines will win six games in 2009. But I predicted they would win six games in 2008 as did most experts. We'll see! Chuck/Bagman.

RE: Which Coach Is Better??? (College Football)

Out of 119 Division 1 college football teams, the College Football News ranks Notre Dame #57 and Michigan #78! However, every year scout.com and rivals.com usually have both teams ranked in the top 10 recruiting class. You have to ask yourself this question: if both schools are getting plenty of blue chip athletes, then what aren't they winning? Obviously something is very wrong! Michigan had an excellent freshman QB last year named Ryan Mallett and he transferred to Arkansas and their All Big 10 guard transferred to Ohio State. It makes you wonder when a football team has great athletes and continues to loose. I was shocked when Syracuse beat Notre Dame, but not as shocked when Toledo beat Michigan in the Big House in Ann Arbor! Both of these former powerhouses deserve better as does their alumni, fans, students, and state. Hopefully, these two highly paid coaches will eventually get the situation turned around! In 2006 rivals.com ranked Michigan's recruiting class as 13th. in the country, 12th. in 2007, 10th. in 2008, and currently 8th. for the 2009 class. rivals.com ranked Notre Dame 8th. in 2006, 8th. in 2007, 2nd. in 2008, and 9th. so far in 2009. this alone proves that these universities are recruiting great athletes to play football, but it takes more than great athletes to win on Saturday! JMHO, Chuck/Bagman.
